6-Day Dongchuan Red Land & Jianshui Tour

Drive north toward the Red Land area and stop at selected public viewpoints. Check into local accommodation before a late-afternoon photography outing if conditions are suitable. Crop colors and field patterns vary through the farming year, so no particular color display is guaranteed.
Head out for a morning viewpoint visit when visibility is promising, then return to the accommodation for breakfast. Drive back to Kunming with a meal break. This overnight stop prevents an exhausting direct journey from Dongchuan to Jianshui.
Travel south to Jianshui and spend the afternoon in the old town. Visit one of the main heritage courtyards, then explore the surrounding lanes. Leave room for a relaxed dinner and an evening stroll near your hotel.
Visit Tuanshan Village and Double Dragon Bridge, combining traditional architecture with countryside scenery. Return to Jianshui for a further old-town visit or a pottery experience arranged in advance. A tourist-train ride is optional and depends on the operating schedule.
Return to Kunming by road or a confirmed daytime train connection. Book an evening onward departure only after the transfer schedule is agreed; otherwise add a final Kunming night. The day is kept free of distant sightseeing to protect the connection.
