How to Travel from Hong Kong Airport to Tsim Sha Tsui

Tsim Sha Tsui, located at the southern point of Kowloon Peninsula, is about 30 kilometers (19 miles) from Hong Kong Airport. The fastest way from Hong Kong Airport to Tsim Sha Tsui is by Airport Express plus MTR, taking about 50 minutes in total. Airport Shuttle Bus brings passengers to specific spots in Tsim Sha Tsui directly, at HKD 23.8 – 40.8. If you travel with friends or families with sufficient budget, consider a red taxi, which is the most labor-saving.

1. Fast Airport Express + MTR: about 50 minutes, HKD 73

It’s the first option for business travelers requiring an accurate timetable and tourists with a tight schedule, for example, if you plan to go downtown with a not long transit at Hong Kong Airport.

Step 1. Take Airport Express to Tsing Yi Station;
Step 2. Transfer to Tung Chung Line and get off at Lai King Station;
Step 3. Interchange to Tsuen Wan Line and get off at Tsim Sha Tsui Station.

2. Economic Way - Direct Airport Bus: about 55 - 100 min, HKD 23.8 - 40.8

Most passengers choose the airport shuttle bus A21 or A25 with distinctive stops in Tsim Sha Tsui to reach popular destinations even their hotels without any transfer. Besides, it’s not difficult to take the bus even if you carry large-sized baggage, as those buses are all equipped with a special luggage rack.

A21 takes about 70 minutes with more stops, while A25 needs only 55 minutes, but with a longer interval and fewer departures.

If you land in Hong Kong at midnight, night express bus lines N21 and N21A are workable. The two operate with the same route but at different times. About 100 minutes are needed for a single journey for both.

 S56 + MTR: 70 min; HKD 22.4
→ Take shuttle bus S56 at Car Park One, Cheong Tat Road stop to Tung Chung Station;
→ Change to MTR Tung Chung Line to Lai King Station;
→ Interchange to Tsuen Wan Line to Tsim Sha Tsui.

 A30 + MTR: 60 min; HKD 30.8
→ Ride Bus A30 at Ground Transportation Center of the airport to Kwai Fong Station;
→ Transfer to MTR Tsuen Wan Line and get off at Tsim Sha Tsui after 9 stops.

 E21 + MTR: 85 min; HKD 20.4
→ At Ground Transportation Center, get on bus A12 to Mong Kok Police Station, Nathan Road;
→ Walk 55 meters (60.1 yards) to reach MTR Prince Edward Station, and take MTR Tung Chung Line to Tsim Sha Tsui.
 

4. Taxis or Online Car Hailing: about 30 - 40 minutes, from HKD 280

Recommended for a tour group of 3 – 4 people. It’s easy to find a taxi outside the Arrivals Hall, while the boarding point of online hailing is located at Car Park 4 and the Car Park of Regal Airport Hotel. Be sure to choose taxis in red color, which are allowed to operate in downtown.
